Hostile Environments

In Hostile Environments, the game is played in rounds.

The goal of hostile environment actions will often be to find Game Currencies, including Basic Resources used to tame creatures and make potions, Evidence Points to convince others of the truth of what is happening in a situation and, in longer campaigns, Elite and Divine Resources.

Hero Phase:Take actions

2.The Spread Phase: GM sees if more squares receive Elevated Impact

3.Roll the Opportunity Die

  1. In Phase 1 of the round each player can move up to their speed in squares and take one action, generally from the abovementioned chart on p24.
  2. During phase 2 of the round, you, the GM will roll dice based on the description of the environment in the chapter on Hostile Environments. Consider that description to be your “monster stat block” (only the players fight against nature, not any one creature.)
  3. In the last phase before starting a new round, you roll an Opportunity Die. The Round # and the Risk Level (difficulty level) of the environment determine how big that die is. (p25)
