Game Modes and Goals

The game has three main modes. Each of these will have will be explained in greater detail later in this book.

  • General Exploration
  • Hostile Environment Exploration
  • Diplomatic Roleplay

In general exploration the characters are in an environment that is not actively trying to kill them. In a hostile environment, they are in an environment that taxes the strength of their spacesuit. Each round could bring disaster.

The game can measure the success of the players in one of two ways (or both): either the collection of Evidence Points, or in getting close to unlocking the Prime Matter.

Evidence Points

Colony in Crisis: The Settlement’s life support is at the brink. A solution to this world’s dangerous conditions must be devised & corruption amongst the station leaders must be investigated. But the Void of Space was not meant for Man. These planets are not “Mother” like Earth – you are under a hostile sun. You must find Evidence Points in order to determine the best solution to the failing life support system.

[GM to Fill: What has been happening on the Settlement?]

Galactic Masters:

  • Invent 3- 5 NPCs. Know what secrets each are hiding and how receptive they will be to nosey PCs. (and what they can be bribed with)

Know where clues can be found and assign Evidence Points for each.

  • Some NPCs may only come to trust the party after they have accumulated a certain amount of Evidence Points. Better clues → Better Trust
  • The scenario should have different endings based on amount of EP found. A weak case may cause delay from authorities, whereas lots of EP makes a strong case that ensures quick action and full success. Getting all EP on something of importance might get the party noticed by the Council of Seven (see Lore).
